Code of Ethics/Conduct

The therapist is committed to providing safe, professional, and respectful massage therapy services. Professional boundaries will be maintained at all times, and each client’s right to privacy, modesty, and comfort will be respected. Massage therapy will be provided only within the scope of professional training and licensure, and clients will be referred to appropriate healthcare professionals if their needs extend beyond the therapist’s scope of practice.

Clients are encouraged to communicate their preferences, comfort levels, and concerns at any point during the session. Professional draping will be used at all times to protect privacy, with only the area being treated exposed. Clients may remain partially clothed if preferred, as massage can be performed effectively regardless of the level of undress. At any time, clients have the right to stop or modify the session.

Harassment, inappropriate behavior, or requests outside the scope of professional massage therapy will not be tolerated. Both the client and the therapist reserve the right to end a session immediately if boundaries are crossed. All client health and personal information will be kept strictly confidential in accordance with HIPAA and professional standards.

The therapist is dedicated to continuing education in order to enhance skills and knowledge, and will uphold honesty, integrity, and compassion in all professional interactions. A safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment will always be maintained for all clients, regardless of background, identity, or ability.

It is Ambrosia Massage LLC's policy to reinforce with all new clients that massage therapy is not in any way a sexually oriented business. It is unfortunate that the term "massage" has been used as a cover for prostitution. Sexually oriented businesses using that term are illegal and usually involved in human trafficking. Because of this illegal activity confusing the public, it is necessary for me to make it clear that any sexualizing of the massage session, all forms of harassment, and any type of solicitation will result in the immediate end of the session. The client is expected to leave the massage area and will not be rebooked. The incident will be recorded and reported to local law enforcement. This is why a client will not be scheduled for massage sessions unless they provide an accurate name, address, and phone number. Clients seeking therapeutic massage appreciate this strict zero-tolerance policy knowing that it assures them of a safe professional health care environment Email correspondence to and from this address may be subject to the North Carolina Public Records law and may be disclosed to third parties by an authorized state official.
